About Us
Fat Bat Brewing was conceived by a beer loving and artistic sister and brother team. Our goal was to create the ultimate locals’ brewery and brew great local beer in Hanover, PA where we’ve had roots in for over 30 years.
Fat Bat Brewing was named after the head brewer's beloved pug. When Kevin was first starting to brew at home, his pug would lie upside down and watch Kevin work – looking like a “Fat Bat”! The mascot dons a custom outfit and persona on each Fat Bat label and can be found around the bar.
Sandy Bialek

Sandy is a lifetime learner and fun seeker who has always had a love for beer and adventure. After raising 3 kids in Hanover with her high school sweetheart, Sandy decided to pursue her lifelong dream of starting a local, female-owned business. When she’s not at the brewery, you can find her spending time with her many grandkids, brewery hopping, or sunbathing at the beach.
Kevin Smith

Creative Director
Kevin, the youngest brother of Sandy, is the mastermind and artist behind every brew Fat Bat makes. Most of the artwork and custom structures around the brewery were designed and built by him. Kevin was born creative and has been brewing beer for 11 years. When he’s not at the brewery, you can find him chasing his toddler or watching his older daughters play sports.

Fat Bat Brewing is a female-owned Pennsylvania LLC. Accommodations for handicap are always available including an elevator and reserved space at the bar.
No dogs are allowed in the Brew House or the Tap Room per state regulation. The only exception are service dogs.
Visitors under 21 are welcome in the spacious Fermenting room or outside. We want Fat Bat to be an adult social space and our small Tap Room could not accommodate both. Please contact us with any questions.
